Charity ballgown for World Water Day by Roberto Cavalli

Italian fashion designer Roberto Cavalli has created a special gown to celebrate the occasion of the 'One Night for One Drop' charity event," organised by the One Drop association in collaboration with the Cirque du Soleil.

ONE NIGHT for ONE DROP is a global philanthropy event that raises awareness and funds to ensure that water is accessible to all, today and forever. Coinciding with World Water Day, ONE DROP will host its inaugural ONE NIGHT for ONE DROP in Las Vegas, NV, USA, on March 22, 2013. For one incredible evening, international leaders, neighbors, philanthropists, and global citizens will come together to make a dream a reality – a world where every human being has access to water and can live in dignity and health.

ONE NIGHT for ONE DROP includes:
  • An extraordinary night of affairs, including a breathtaking spectacle, superstar surprise performances, and a myriad of pre and post-show parties.
  • A once-in-a-lifetime performance in the “O” Theatre at Bellagio featuring cast members from each Cirque du Soleil show alongside several world renowned artisans.
  • Cirque du Soleil will close all seven of its resident shows in Las Vegas so that all eyes can be on the week’s grand finale, ONE NIGHT for ONE DROP.
  • ONE NIGHT for ONE DROP will benefit ONE DROP’s global initiatives, along with innovative educational programming in Nevada through a partnership with the Las Vegas Springs Preserve.
The event, sponsored by luxury car company Lamborghini and the MGM Resorts group, will take place later this month at the famous Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas to celebrate World Water Day. The Cavalli gown will be featured in the 'Africa' section of the spectacle, which is also set to show off "superstar surprise performances."

Founded by in 2007 by Canadian entrepreneur Guy Laliberté (who started as a street performer before going on to create the international circus extravaganza Cirque du Soleil), the One Drop association aims to fight poverty by ensuring access to water for all.

World Water Day, was established by the United Nations in 1993, and is celebrating its 20th birthday this year. 'One Night for One Drop' will be held Friday, March 22 with support from Prince Albert of Monaco and Oscar-winning director James Cameron.

One Drop will also be streaming a 90-minute online special broadcast of the event for €5 (pre-order before March 25) here. All proceeds will go to the charity.
